Verify the association of CUVA and the IP phone or Cisco IP Communicator from the status
displayed on the CUVA application window.
When the CUVA application is started, it will show icons for the Cisco VT Camera in the
middle, Cisco IP Communicator on the left, and an IP phone on the right. A successful
CAST association is indicated by a green line, and an unsuccessful connection is indicated
by a broken red line. Figure 19-8 shows an example of a successful and unsuccessful
connection.

The video-check verification of CUVA enables the end user to verify the send and receive
configuration of the video client. Choose Video > Start Video Check from the CUVA
client or click the button in the lower-right corner of the CUVA application window. While
the video check is being performed, two popup windows appear. One popup window
displays the Local view, and the other popup window display the Remote view. The lower
right of each window displays green bars if they are successful transmitting or receiving
data. During the video check, the same image appears in both windows, as shown in
Figure 19-9.

During an active call, the Diagnostics tool can be launched to obtain valuable
troubleshooting information. The Diagnostics tool provides some technical details about
the current state of the CUVA software that is running on the PC and some indications about
the Cisco VT Camera frame rates and errors.
To use the Diagnostics tool, open the CUVA main window and double right-click the
application window. The Diagnostics window appears. Do not double left-click (doubleclick).
Only a double right-click will bring up the video diagnostics window.
The Diagnostics tool allows monitoring of CDP messages, CAST packets, and active call
statistics. Figure 19-10 shows the Diagnostics tool.
