To configure phone lines to use a voice-mail system, the phone line needs to be configured
with a voice-mail profile as illustrated in Figure 18-15 and described in the following steps:
Step 1 In CUCM Administration, go to Device > Phone, and select the IP phone
that should be configured for voice-mail usage. Click the DN of the
phone to be configured with the voice-mail profile.
Step 2 At each phone line, select the voice-mail profile that should be used by
the DN.

NOTE By default, all phone lines have the voice-mail profile set to Default. If only one
voice-mail system is used, the Default voice-mail profile and voice-mail pilot should be
configured as described in the previous topic to simplify administration. Changes
performed to the Default voice-mail pilot immediately apply to all phones. This approach
is recommended when integrating with a single voice-mail system.

The phone lines have to be configured to forward calls to the voice-mail system. This is
configured from the DN configuration, but it can also be configured at the user web pages.
If Call Forward All (CFA) is selected, all other call-forward settings are ignored. If CFA is
not enabled, the other call-forward settings are used based on the event (Call Forward Busy
[CFB], Call Forward No Answer [CFNA], Call Forward Unregistered [CFUR]). CFNC
applies only to lines that forwarded calls to a hunt list where hunting is exhausted and
the hunt pilot is configured to perform final forwarding based on the personal preference.
